Amber amulets

What it is
Fossil resin from the Baltic, warm, electric and scented, was used for axe-shaped and animal amulets from the Stone Age on, for teething necklaces, and for Roman and Viking charms.
Making yours
Carve and polish raw amber, or copal as a cheaper stand-in. Drill with water to avoid cracking.
