What it is

Silver padlock-shaped pendants (changming suo) given to infants to “lock” their soul to the living world. Stamped with “long life, wealth and honour” and hung with bells and fish.

5–10 cm hollow repoussé silver lock, often with enamel, on a neck ring with dangling bells.
