Balangandãs, figas & Afro-Atlantic charms

What it is
Bahian balangandã clusters of silver charms (figa, fish, pomegranate, key, drum, cashew) hung from a woman’s waist. Enslaved and free Afro-Brazilian women wore them as wealth and protection. Includes Vodou and Santería objects.

A 15–25 cm silver bar hung with 10–30 small cast charms.
