Ga’u amulet boxes

What it is
Portable shrines worn by men on the shoulder and by women on necklaces. Each holds a deity image, printed mantras, relics and blessed pills behind a window, and is closed by a named lama.
Making yours
5–15 cm. Silver or copper back with a repoussé front frame (arch, circle or square), turquoise and coral settings, and loops on the sides.
