Coral teething rattles & child charms

What it is
“Coral and bells”: silver whistles with bells and a coral stick for teething. Coral was believed to change colour when a child fell ill and to ward off the evil eye. Coral branches and horns were hung on cradles.
Making yours
10–15 cm silver or silver-gilt handle with whistle, 4–8 small bells and a polished coral or mother-of-pearl teether.
